Withdrawal TreatmentIn most cases of addiction, the first step in recovery is known as withdrawal. This can prove to be a challenging process due to the uncomfortable or dangerous withdrawal symptoms experienced by the individual.  We provide 24-hour monitoring by highly trained professionals to ensure a safe and effective detoxification for our clients.

When clients first begin our program, they enter the Tranquility Detox Withdrawal Clinic for observation.  A medical director will evaluate the client and determine which type of detoxification is required for their specific needs.

Medical Detox Withdrawal Clinic

In most cases, sudden abstinence from a substance can be life-threatening; therefore, it is always best to undergo a professionally supervised detox.  Some of the most common drugs that require medically supervised detox include, but are not limited to:

  • Alcohol
  • Cocaine
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Methamphetamine
  • Tranquilizers
  • Marijuana
  • Psych Meds
  • LSD / Acid
  • Ecstasy

Following successful detoxification, clients are ready to enter our primary treatment facility.  Before beginning this part of the program, there are certain criteria that must be met to determine that the individual is ready.  These criteria are:

  1. No longer under the influence of a mood-altering substance
  2. The possibility of medical complications during detox is no longer a concern
  3. Cravings and withdrawal symptoms are no longer an issue

After establishing that these points have been achieved, the client will now progress to our facility located on the scenic shoreline of Lake Michigan.  During this part of the program, the client benefits from regular exercise with a trainer, nutritious meals, and massage therapy.  A day in our program finds clients involved in a variety of activities, all directed to building skills and confidence for coping with life outside the facility.
